You were the artist and I was your failed attempt at a masterpiece. I was a blank canvas, devoid of all colours when we met. I came along with you, because I believed you would return me to my glory. Little did I know, I was meant to be just an experiment, later to be shunned to the back of your closet. We stayed together for months. You tried various things. Different colours, different strokes. Many times you took a few steps back. Little did I know, you weren’t taking those steps only to admire your work, but to put that distance between us. The time was coming. Both of us could feel it.
