EXPECTATIONS

EXPECTATIONS. It can be your parents expecting you to lead a good life. It can be your teachers expecting you to do well in school. It can be your friends expecting you to stay with them. Or, it can be you expecting support and love from your parents. It can be you expecting patience and hope from your teachers. It can be you expecting comfort and happiness from your friends. The list never ends. In fact the world might come to a stop if people stopped expecting. Because it is the passion, the desire to meet the expectations that urge you to do more. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Expectations are just like drugs. They effect the people at the two ends of the spectrum. The generating end and the receiving end. The sellers with good intentions, like people at the chemists and doctors, are the people who have expectations for the benefit of their customers. And these custome...

PRESENT IS A GIFT

PRESENT IS A GIFT The past is a treasure, learn from it The future is a surprise, don’t think about it The present is what you have, cherish it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A lot has happened since I last wrote. I injured my foot, missed my exams and started a series of short stories, inspired by my dreams. They were those types of dreams which feel completely realistic, but you know that they will never actually become reality so, every night before sleep, you hope you get that dream again. You start living your fantasised life in your dreams. Also, this academic year went by in a flash. Even personally, this was a very productive year for me, I shifted schools, settled in the new school and made amazing friends. I also learnt a lot, the importance and value of friendships and true friends, living through the tough times with a smile on your face and enjoying an...

MY LANDSCAPE

My Landscape Your flaws are mountains in the landscape of your personality. And at the top of every mountain, the view is always worth the effort. Climbing each mountain just leads to a valley more beautiful than the previous one. Rivers add to the serenity of a landscape. Just like how emotions shape up your personality. It's important to keep the rivers in control, too much water can flood the beautiful landscape and too little can suck the life out of it.  One thing to always keep in mind is, all landscapes have their own beauty, their own way of enchanting the beholder. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Right now, I've reached a stage where being teased about my height doesn't effect me. I've always been the shortest in my classes (no kidding) and when someone made fun of my height, I used to...

ETERNAL HOPE

Eternal Hope You know you've started to settle in, when the “they's” changes into “we”. When you start saying “We have a 30 minutes long break” instead of saying “They have a 30 minutes long break”. This is when you realize there actually is hope for you in the new life. Hope for friends, hope for the similar old life. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've always felt that I am a football being kicked from one group of friends to another. All I have ever wanted to be is the goalpost, not because I want people to come to me, but because I want that one person to stay beside me no matter what. Finding this “one” person is not always easy. And once you find them , its even harder to leave them. In my class I see almost everyone has that one friend they confide in, trust and tell secrets to. I've fou...

NEW SCHOOL

New School So this is my third week in my new school, I still cant call anyone my friend, it takes time for that. But I don't sit alone in class, I do talk with people. And I have caught up on the portion I had missed. Teachers also have started to remember my name now. And today I found myself. I feel I had lost myself in the world of peer pressure, loneliness and competition. After the change in my life, instead of feeling sad I feel happy, cheerful. I don't really see a reason for me to be sad. I miss my friends, I lost the election by like just two votes, yet I am not sad, I am happy, I am positive. This me is so different than the me I used to know. The person who always preferred to stay quiet, only spoke when necessary and was know to be depressed. Although, now that person is no where to be found, maybe somewhere in the depths of her soul and is replaced by a happy go lucky, cheerful person I used to be before I entered the world of teens. People think...

WE SHIFTED

We Shifted Every day, there's this part within me, which hopes this all is just a dream and it will soon all be over and we will be back to our everyday lives as we have known it for 2-3 years. But deep down inside there is that part of me which is facing reality and knows the dark truth, that there's no going back, maybe never. And life as we know is gonna to change. That "this" is what we have and what we'll have to adjust to. This is what goes on inside me every time we shift during those few weeks of school and house hunting and the week we wait for our stuff to come to the strange place we are going to call our home for the next few years. A cloud sees the world in his short lifetime, goes along with the wind, wherever she takes him, to the mountains, to the desserts, to the forests, to the ice caps and almost everywhere. The cloud also is so friendly, it picks up little droplets from the places he visits, befriends them, grows with them and tr...

A NEW DAY

A New Day So, we are finally here. Here to look where our new life will start, where my new life will begin. We landed in Bangalore at night, and as expected it was raining. There were a few things that hit me hard once we landed. South India typically has their own local language. I lived in the NCR region for like 3 and a half years, before which i was again living in South India, in Hyderabad. So at the airport, we booked a taxi and we left. To reach anywhere in Bangalore from the airport, it takes minimum of 1 to one and a half hours. So the driver, got a call and started speaking. Normally in Delhi you could understand what they were talking about, even if not, you would have a fair idea about it. Here, well, i had absolutely no idea what he was talking about. Even very small things that you see everyday but don't really acknowledge, were different and it once again blew me off guard. For instance, the number plates of vehicles, in Delhi you could see various of th...
